Our club is a great place to take part in the hobby of scale model building. We welcome adults and children to share their awesome creations and learn new skills. You’ll also be able to see what our everyone’s working on, teach us new tricks, and just enjoy talking about models at our monthly meetings. New members and guests are always welcome – just come along to one of our meetings.
If you have questions about the club please get in touch, or read more about us.
Club meetings
We meet on the last Wednesday of every month apart from December, in the Johnsonville Community Hall. We use the Trust Room, which is upstairs from the Moorefield Road entrance. Meetings start at 7.30pm and usually end around 9.30-10pm.
Our meetings start with a Show & Tell session, where members show off models they’ve built or are working on, and talk about the process and the end result. After this we have a cup of tea or coffee and a chat, and there’s often something organised as well – we’ve had quizzes, technique demonstrations, speed builds, and other modelling-related activities.
Where we meet
What we do
Our members build models from all kinds of materials – plastic, resin, metal, wood and more besides. We see a good variety of subjects: Not just aeroplanes and military vehicles – although there are plenty of those – but fast cars, ships, figures, trucks, and creations from the worlds of science-fiction and fantasy too. It’s all good.
